Core i7 Extreme or Quad Xeon?
I am having difficulty choosing between them, can not seem to find concrete benchmarks to follow. The configuration of (the money is not an issue): Option One ========== Core i7, 8MB RAM 3.2Ghz Asus P6TD Deluxe DDR3 dual channel option ========= Two Supermicro X7DCA-R Dual Socket ** ** 2 * Xeon, 12MB RAM DDR2 ECC cache 2.33GHz, Triple channel The Xeon is slightly slower than the Core i7 but there are 8 cores and has a large cache. But I7 has a smaller cache and large clock. I do not know what will preform better.
Xeon is not for personal or household use, This processor is designed for commercial servers such as web servers, etc.

How can you find a good VPS hosting?
VPS is the right choice for you if you want more control of what you can get a hosting account shared, but you do not need the power of a dedicated server. You're still a shared server with other people, but you have your own virtual environment with no access. What happens is that the main server is divided into smaller virtual servers. " In the end you get all the independence and flexibility that comes with a server dedicated service without higher price tag.
You have to watch a couple of things when searching for a number of VPS. You will find some of these features more useful than others. Here are some of the most important benefits to be vigilant in your search.
Look in the hardware
Make sure you find out from any machine VPS hardware that are running. You must be sure that CPU are running dual Xeon processors four nuclei. You should also ensure that hard drives are RAID protected. Look for RAID 5, at least, RAID 10, but will be faster and more stable.
Check the software
When looking at different options for OS CentOS 4 or 5. You should also check that you get the Following complete access to your VPS so you can run or install anything you need, within the terms of the hosting service. You also want to check that can accommodate as many domains as you think you may need. Also check that offer the control panel that likes to work. If they do not offer the control panel use see what they offer and whether they fit your needs. If not you may have to move on. You also want to make sure your VPS comes with at least 2 IPs. You will need 2 IPs of the nameservers on your domain configuration.
Do not pay too long
You may also want to avoid paying for advance for hosting services. Even if they offer a better deal, you never know what changes will bring about a month. To give yourself the most options you want to pay per month.
For most sites, VPS hosting is a great option. Just be sure to follow the advice above.
