How much can I get for a new laptop Compaq Presario 2007 with a cracked screen?
I have a Compaq Presario, in February 2007. I accidentally dropped or stepped on it and now the screen is cracked. I ask the company where he bought the team, but they said the insurance will not cover damages. How can I sell? Also, is there any sites where I can buy the screen for cheap? Similar equipment on E-bay parts are sold for around $ 150. Be honest about what you have on your computer for sale. Let know that the screen is broken. Also, if you remove the hard drive to protect your information to be stolen, make sure to include your hard drive "cage" and the "connector" for the laptop. This will increase the price to sell it! (Perhaps for another $ 50 – $ 100 as model-specific issues and often there are no more.), but replacing the screen is not very difficult. You can buy a screen from various sources. I put a link to Screentekinc then for your convenience. I also tried to find a link to a service manual for your laptop, but did not give the model number. To replace the screen, only have to remove four or five screws. The screen is in one piece, joined by a ribbon cable. Pull the screen out, disconnect the ribbon cable. To install the new screen ribbon cable plug in, instead of the screen, its position, put the frame and reinstall the screws. It is not difficult at all. You may want to buy a set informatics tools to have the proper screwdriver. (About $ 15.) Good luck!
