IBM / Lenovo power cable?
I have a two-headed old IBM power cable (the cable that runs from the transformer, but not the processor). Would this be compatible with a Lenovo T60 series transformer? Attach seems perfectly fine, but I will not destroy my computer when I connect so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Check marks both … comparison. And let me know what they say, if they are the same then you will safe. However, I doubt the power brick is more compatible with a new T60, as it is not enough power output for your laptop. If you use the new power brick and the old cable power brick to the wall you should be fine too. Like the cable that connects a Power Supply into an outlet that are fairly standard, because its function is only to transmit power from one place to another and not doing any conversion.

Apple Computer, based in Cupertino, CA, manufactures and sells personal computers and software. In 2006, the company employed 16,820 people and generated revenues of $ 19.3 billion.
Apple has consistently lagged behind its competitors in environmental programs such as recycling of computers, the phase toxic chemicals like PVC from its computers, ensure transparency and a willingness to talk to environmental groups.
In 2002, BusinessWeek name of Apple Computer, as having one of the worst board of directors. There is no reason for these potentially hazardous chemicals in iPhones, "said CEH Executive Director Michael Green. We expect Apple to reformulate their products to make them more insurance from cradle to grave, so they pose no threat to consumers, workers or the environment.
Phthalates, used to soften plastic and make it flexible, have been found to demonstrate hormone-disrupting effects can lead to diseases of the reproductive or developmental deformities.
Apple Computer Inc. was one of the companies included in Greenpeace International E-waste Hall of Shame.
Greenpeace International discovered Apple products during his visit to a scrapyard in China. Apple, along with IBM, Panasonic, Toshiba and Acer, has not committed to remove chemicals from products or be responsible safe recycling and responsible disposal of their products.
Under Proposition 65, California, any product of consumer exposure to carcinogens or reproductive toxins must carry a warning label. However, the most recent test announced by CEH found 6200 parts per million (ppm) of phthalates in the earphone wire of the iPhone and 6,300 ppm in the iPod headphone cable, levels even higher than 5070 ppm, which Greenpeace found in cable on the iPhone headphones.
More than 70 environmental groups have signed a letter to former Vice President Al Gore, who sits on the board of Apple, to ask him to push the company to become more sustainable. Environmentalists express surprise that as America's best known advocate of the environment, oppose Gore shareholder resolutions claiming Apple was voted unanimously against asking Apple to be greener.
Apple customers should know that when iPhone in their hands they can get a dose of toxic chemicals as well, Green said. It is clear that Apple's priority is to market new products as quickly as possible, not as safe as possible. For customers who are buying now, that's not good enough.
Apple did not respond directly to the letter CEH litigation, but the company announced plans to eliminate all polyvinyl chloride (PVC) from its products in 2008. According to Apple, PVCs are the source of phthalates in the headphone cables.
Apple is recalling 1.8 million batteries in its laptop computers worldwide after repeated complaints of overheating. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, there were nine reports of batteries overheating, two of which were reported of minor burns caused by machines.
The recall affects laptops like the iBook G4 and PowerBook G4 sold between October 2003 and August 2006. The recall comes shortly after Dell recalled over 4 million notebook computer batteries, which were also supplied by Sony.
The company has drawn criticism from CEH and other environmental groups before the charge that Apple has enough policies for recycling and disposal of electronic waste.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs published an open letter on his company's Web site in response to environmental criticism leveled at Apple in detailing the company's plans for the disposal of many hazardous chemicals in their products and increase recycling.
Greenpeace, an organization of environmental protection that Apple had qualified in the bottom of the electronics company of 15 in a recent publication, responded to the letter from Jobs saying they are satisfied with the company's plans, but it is all we ask and that will push Apple to become green to the core.
