What are some good tips to make a laptop battery last?
Batteries for laptops can be expensive, and I'm trying take care of mine, so it is not necessary to constantly keep replacing it. I do not know to charge until it reaches 6%, not to shut it down unless they will use at least 12 hours. What are some other tips to make a good drummer?
This will last longer if used in power A / C's Most of the time and keep the battery fully charged, the battery use only when absolutely necessary. I have a lap top that is 7 years and has a low battery original battery and another that is 3 yrs.old and original. The battery life depends on the number of times cycled discharge of cargo complete. The number of cycles depends on the size of the battery cells, typically from 1000 to 2000 cycles of loading. But like the car / flash light or a battery can fail for no apparent reason. Hope this helps

How can I maximize battery performance?
There are several steps you can take to ensure you get maximum performance from your battery:
Breaking New Batteries – new batteries come in a discharged condition and must be fully charged before use. It is recommended that you upload and download completely new battery two to four times to allow it to reach its full potential.
Prevent the Memory Effect – Keep your battery healthy load completely and then comply fully at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-Ion batteries do not suffer the memory effect.
Keep Clean your battery – is a good idea to clean the battery contacts with a dirty cotton swab and alcohol. This helps maintain a good connection between the battery and its portable device.
Exercise the Battery – Do not leave the battery dormant for long periods of time. We recommend using the battery at least once every two to three weeks. If the battery has not been used for an extended period of time, perform the new battery break in procedure described above.
Battery Storage – If you do not plan to use the battery for a month or more, we recommend storing it in a clean, dry, cool and away from heat and metal objects. Ni-Cd, Ni-MH and Li-Ion batteries will discharge during storage, remember to break them before use.
For notebook users – For maximum battery performance, fully optimize the notebook power management features prior to use. Power management is a trade off: better power conservation in exchange for lesser computer performance. The power management system conserves battery power to set the processor operate at a slower speed, dimming the screen, spinning down the hard drive when not in use and causing the machine to enter standby mode when inactive. Your notebook user's guide will provide information on the specific characteristics of energy management.
